Greetings to members and friends of Channing. As this is being written, we finally had sunshine for the first time in a week, and warmer than normal weather is expected for a few days. But- February looms ahead. Actually, although there may be cold days ahead, I have always felt that once we get into February, we are "over the hump" of the worst weather. Of course, in Oklahoma, anything can happen weatherwise. My daffodils were blooming at Christmas! If icy weather recurs, please be careful. If it happens to be on a Sunday and there is a question of whether or not services will be held, look for an alert on social media, only if it is cancelled. Our Zoom guru, Eva Mahoney, will not only put out the alert, but will most likely arrange for remote services via Zoom. (Everybody remember CoVid? Speakers and congregation alike in their respective homes.) For those of you far away, or who haven't been to church recently, our member Nancy Jefferis died on January 2, from complications of her dementia. A memorial is being planned, but date not yet set. There will be friends from out of state attending, and we are hoping for more favorable and predictable weather. We will announce later. Hope to see you all soon.. See the rest of the Feb.
