We are a Welcoming Congregation.

What does this mean?

As a Welcoming Congregation we are inclusive and expressive of the concerns of bisexual, gay, lesbian, and/or transgender persons at every level of congregational life. We engage in outreach into the BGLT community and offer congregational and ministerial support for services of union, memorial services, and celebrations of evolving definitions of family.

A Welcoming Congregation, as an advocate for BGLT people, attends to legislative developments and works to promote justice, freedom, and equality in the larger society.
It speaks out when the rights and dignity of people are at stake.

Channing UU Church celebrates the lives of all people and their ways of expressing their love for each other. Only when we are truly open to the wealth of diversity in our world will the inherent worth and dignity of every person be affirmed with a large voice.
